Insect Repellents (DEET/Permethrin)
The products featured below can help you to avoid contracting malaria. However,
no single product or medicine provides 100% protection from malaria. Be sure to
ask your travel health professional about developing a complete malaria
prevention regimen.
DEET Repellents / Skin
The most effective repellents contain DEET, which is an ingredient used to repel
pests like mosquitoes and ticks. DEET has been tested against a variety of

Permethrin® Insecticide / Clothing

lethal dose. Unlike DEET, which may harm some fabrics and materials, Permethrin
is compatible for use even on fragile fabrics, such as silk.
